The closer to a person's lips that we provide drinking water, the more effectively TWI combats WBD and water contaminants of all types. Large centralized water treatment plants consume enormous amounts of energy, produce tremendous waste water issues and waste up to 40%-50% of their output via leakage from the water distribution infrastructure (ex. leaking pipes). To make matters worse, much of the remaining water becomes re-contaminated during distribution or storage. The vast majority of individual household water consumption is for the washing machine, toilet, shower, etc. Only about 1-2% of all treated water is actually used for drinking and cooking! Therefore, TWI believes that safe drinking water requires the most effective and efficient solutions at the "POD" in the home.
