Dr. Hubert Fleming
Dr. Hubert L. Fleming is a leading authority in the water and utilities sector, with nearly 30 years of experience. He is currently the Global Director for Hatch Water and a member of its Board of Directors. Hatch Water is an international engineering/consulting firm with expertise in large scale water systems. Dr. Fleming was the formerly Sr. Vice President of O’Brien & Gere, a member of the Board of Directors for Severn Trent Water Purification Inc., and President of Crane Environmental Inc. From 1988 – 1996, Dr. Fleming was the Vice President of Zenon Environmental Inc., the world leader in membrane-based water treatment systems.  Dr. Fleming serves on the National Drinking Water Advisory Council, the World Health Organization Water Policy and Management Advisory Committee, the Earth Sciences Corporation Board and the Washington International Business Ventures Board. Dr. Fleming is on the Executive Committee for the Water Equipment Manufacturer’s Association.  He is a member of the Water Environmental Federation, the EPA Advisory Committee of Clean Water Act Issues and the US Government Fact Finding Delegations on Water Issues.

In 2001, Dr. Fleming won the Arthur Anderson Award for Excellence in Mergers and Acquisitions. He has authored more than 60 publications, eight book chapters, and 16 patents in various aspects of water management. He is also the co-author of the Membrane Handbook, winner of the prestigious PSP Award for the Most Outstanding Work of Reference in 1992. Dr. Fleming is the Chairman/Co-Chairman of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers National Meetings, Gordon Conference on Membranes, the North American Membrane Society and the International Congress on Membranes, Membrane Process.  

Dr. Fleming holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a B.S. in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics from Alderson-Broaddus College. He is a graduate of the Executive Management Program from the Harvard Business School and currently an Adjunct Professor for the School of Engineering at the Worchester Polytechnic Institute.
